Richard Haywood studied medicine at St Thomas' Hospital in London and trained in plastic surgery in Stoke Mandeville, Stevenage, Nottingham and Leicester. He was appointed as a Consultant at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2005. In the NHS Mr Haywood has specialist interests in breast reconstruction and microsurgical reconstruction. He is a plastic surgery skills trainer for the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was Clinical Director of Plastic Surgery Services for Norfolk & Suffolk for 5 years and is currently a council member for BAPRAS. In private practice he carries out all types of plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.
He is registered with the General Medical Council (3686096) and on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery, he is a full member of The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).
